01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Some diners return to Ebisu for its fried horse mackerel, listed at ¥980. Others recommend the sashimi and grilled fish. Whether you come for something fried or want to build a meal around small plates of fish, there is plenty to choose from.

The sashimi selection includes tuna, water octopus, cured mackerel and the day's white fish, as well as an assorted plate of three. One diner was glad to find sashimi available late at night. Seasonal recommendations and simmered dishes offer more to pair with a fish plate, alongside beer or local sake.

For a final course, try a rice ball made with 100% Uonuma Koshihikari rice. Grilled rice balls are another option, as are rice balls with your choice of filling, or zosui rice porridge and udon after a hot pot. Ebisu is closed on Wednesdays and stays open until 3:00 on other days.
